Redland - Into the Unknown

REDLAND TRAILER - Into the Unknown

"Adden is his daughter Mary Ann, a blonde mite of a thing in her teens who has developed a mighty carnal crush on strapping neighbour Charlie (played by Toben Seymour, Redland second-unit camera director, and Norton’s best friend). Ross Riege is the second unit DP.

Pa is not at all pleased, for reasons that aren’t strictly paternal.

“My character doesn’t know much about the outside world,” says Adden of the girl Norton calls a “woodland sprite, a Holy Fool".

‘‘In Russian literature, fools bring about profound change.” Got that one right.
Redland is shot in non-linear fashion on film that is 20 years past its due date in places and with a lens swaddled in never less than seven filters, and often more. It’s literally intoxicating to watch so much beauty through what – again in places – looks like a chink in the wooden siding of the family shack. In others, where gifted cameraman Zoran Popovic gets in close to film nature in microcosm, it’s a cinematic equivalent of magic mushroom vision. The universe comes clear. It’s just fuzzy around the edges.
“The film came to me in images”, Norton recalls. “The first image I had is of a man in a hat firing a rifle. ‘Who is this man? He’s a father and he’s trying to feed his family.’

“When I was writing the script, my father was dying of cancer. It made me ask the large existential questions: ‘Why am I here? What’s the point?’ ”
Redland is ultimately about the mystery of life. Norton shot the film in seven weeks with a small cast and crew in the old-growth forests of Humboldt.

“The locations were great. We were all staying together in a hotel in a small town, and we bonded".

"There's no doubt that when times are hardest is when people turn to art for both reprieve and answers. This is most obviously seen in religion and mythology. Whether or not one is a believer, it's fairly apparent that people find courage, strength, and release through the epic mythic poems, and the vast artwork they inspire, and therefore it is no surprise that the poorest populations are by far the most religious. Art and myth are inseparable, as art is the means by which myth is created and communicated. Now in terms of our own time and place, film is the modern world's most powerful art form. Cinema is the tool by which today's most famous modern artists (directors, actors, composers, etc.) choose to tell new myths. And in times of economic or other hardships, cinema has always flourished. As proof of this, I would point to film history". -written by Redland's director Asiel Norton Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

Adam Lambert wants "Suburban Decay" in Eclipse's soundtrack

Adam Lambert, the American Idol Runner Up, talks with MTV about his song “Suburban Decay” and how it would fit on the Eclipse soundtrack.

Adam Lambert, Leighton Meester (Gossip girl) and Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen in "Twilight") in the backstage from "It´s On with Alexa Chung" Show.

"Adam Lambert is throwing his hat in the ring for a spot on the next "Twilight" soundtrack. The "American Idol" star mentioned he'd like to hear his unreleased track "Suburban Decay" on "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse", according to MTV. The track is produced by Rob Cavallo and was originally intended for his new album "For Your Entertainment" but didn't make the cut."I think it will find a home, on a soundtrack or something ... maybe 'Twilight', " he said. "It just didn't quite fit [in my album]. It's very theatrical. ... It's very campy, and it was just a bit too campy for the album as a big picture... Hey, 'Eclipse' ... Want my song? It's kind of about vampires."
"Campy" isn't exactly the word to describe the washy intensity of this last compilation, put together by "New Moon" music supervisor and indie expert Alexandra Patsavas".

Will "Breaking Down" be divided in two films?

"They will likely have to cut a few big checks if they decided, as rumored, to split Stephenie Meyer's final "Twilight" novel, "Breaking Dawn," into two pictures. Sources said Summit has set Melissa Rosenberg -- who wrote the first three films -- to finish the series, but Summit has to clear several hurdles before Rosenberg learns how many more scripts she'll write. One of those hurdles is figuring out whether "New Moon" director Chris Weitz will respond favorably to overtures from the film company and the cast to shoot two more films, back to back.Summit execs would not comment, but multiple sources said the company wants to go the two-film route, which means reopening negotiations and securing approval from the author. It also means making new deals with a principal cast that is only locked up for four films. If "Breaking Dawn" becomes two pictures, all of the key cast members will get fat raises, and the three principals -- Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner -- could land paydays in the eight-figure range". Kristen Stewart says it was pretty cool to kiss Robert Pattinson

"Kristen Stewart said it was pretty cool kissing Robert Pattinson in the movie while giving a press conference with her main “Twilight Saga: New Moon” co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Kristen Stewart started off talking about playing her character in “New Moon”. She said the story was really intense, and that they had to maintain a high level of intensity. Then, Taylor chimed in and said, that he’s always surprised at how much fan support they get, and that it’s great to have that.Robert talked about certain places he uses to hide from the paparazzi. Taylor said he had to go through training to do some of the stunts he did in the movie. One in particular, was the dirtbike scene.Robert Pattinson talked about how he tried to workout for his shirtless “New Moon” scene, especially when he saw how big Taylor had gotten. Kristen said, it was pretty cool to kiss Robert Pattinson, and Robert said, It was amazing.”

Ashley Greene: vampire sex is the best

"Ashley Greene has hinted that the Twilight saga's fourth movie, Breaking Dawn, may be split into two parts, like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.Greene, 22, plays vampire Alice Cullen (adoptive sister of Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen) in the Twilight films. Breaking Dawn will be based on the fourth and final teen romance novel in Stephenie Meyer's series. She said: "We have finished filming Eclipse and one would assume that, if New Moon does as well as Twilight, then we'll start filming Breaking Dawn next year.
"The only thing is, Breaking Dawn is a very large book so it would be a really long movie. We're thinking they might decide to split it into two parts, like they did with Harry Potter."

Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes, she added: "Either way, we need to get on with shooting them because, unlike Harry Potter, vampires don't age. So we all need to look the same!"
Ashley is staying in the realm of the supernatural when she stars in her next project The Apparition, which begins filming in February. The ghost story, inspired by true events and written and directed by Todd Lincoln, is about a young couple haunted by a presence unleashed during a college experiment". "Ashley Greene has decided that if you really want fireworks in the sack, your next date should be with a vampire. The Twilight star has revealed that she thinks the undead have the ultimate advantage over humans: "Take the best sex you've ever had in your life, multiply it by 100 and that's vampire sex," said Ashley.

Well, they've had plenty of time to perfect their bedroom technique"Obviously playing Alice Cullen in New Moon has left Ashley a little biased, so she's willing to brush over the whole sucking your blood at the end of it thing. And the fact that vampires are entirely fictional, of course. Source: www.osoblog.tv

Pattinson: Vampire Victory & Remember me

Vampire Victory video: The latest "Twilight" movie, "New Moon" has risen to third place in the biggest opening weekends ever. Nancy Cordes has more on the film's sudden success.

Stills of Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin in "Remember me" (2010).

"The film centers around a pair of star-crossed lovers (sound familiar?) dealing with their own family tragedies. The trailer opens on Tyler (Rob) trying to break up a street fight, ultimately leading to his arrest and a bloodied face (which explains all those paparazzi shots of a worse-for-the-wear Rob strolling through New York City). When Tyler's father Charles, played by Pierce Brosnan, comes to bail him out, it's clear there's no love lost between father and son. "You could do worse than a father who bails you out of jail," Charles says. "I don't want to be bailed out of anything," Tyler shoots back. But Tyler clearly wants—and needs—to be bailed out of his troubled life when in walks the daughter of the cop who arrested him, played by "Lost" actress Emilie de Ravin.Emilie's Ally and Tyler begin a love affair, but we know what happens when RPattz's characters date cops' daughters—there are always complications."Remember Me" is familiar emotional terrain for Rob. His depressed, slightly misfitish Tyler is most equatable with his loner musician character Art in 2008's "How To Be", but it's hard not to see glimmers of Edward Cullen as well, especially in a cafeteria/lounge scene when Tyler meets Ally for the first time. I, for one, however am excited to see Rob drop Edward's perfect mantle and inhabit a romantic lead that is truly relatable—sparkling not included". Source: hollywoodcrush.mtv.com
